Appledale Energy Center

Appledale is planned to be a 300 MW Photovoltaic (PV) solar facility with a 4-hour 300 MW AC-coupled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) connecting to the Columbia - Rocky Ford 230 kV transmission line on the GCPUD electric grid.

Increasing Local Energy Demands

Grant County PUD has 75 applicants asking for 2,897 MW of total peak demand. This is 3x the current peak load of 1,050 MW.

Current Demand Breakdown:

  • Data Centers make up about 50% of the demand.
  • Quincy needs 1,578 MW.
  • Moses Lake needs 1,153 MW.

Solar power is the best way to provide new, cost-effective energy.

WA Clean Energy Transformation ACT (2019) requires new power to be Greenhouse Gas Neutral by 2030.
